Publication Fee Waiver and Discount Policy
Publication Fee Waiver and Discount Policy
Rahbar International Journal of Social Sciences Research (RIJSSR) is committed to promoting equitable access to scholarly publishing and supporting researchers regardless of their financial circumstances or geographic location.
1. Full and Partial Waivers
RIJSSR may provide full or partial waivers of article processing charges (APCs) to authors who are unable to pay the required publication fee because of financial hardship.
Waiver or discount requests may be considered for:
-
Authors from low-income and lower-middle-income countries or economies.
-
Authors who can demonstrate genuine financial hardship.
-
Researchers from institutions with limited research and publication funding.
-
Early-career researchers or independent researchers who have limited access to institutional funding.
-
Other exceptional circumstances that may prevent an author from meeting the publication fee.
2. Eligibility
Waivers and discounts are considered on a case-by-case basis. Eligibility may depend on the author's country of affiliation, institutional funding availability, and demonstrated financial circumstances.
The availability of a waiver or discount does not depend on the quality, topic, or expected outcome of the manuscript.
3. How to Request a Waiver or Discount
Authors who wish to request a full or partial waiver should contact the RIJSSR editorial office before or during manuscript submission.
The request should include:
-
The manuscript title.
-
The corresponding author's name and institutional affiliation.
-
The reason for requesting a waiver or discount.
-
Information about the availability or lack of institutional research/publication funding, where applicable.
-
Any relevant supporting information that may assist the journal in evaluating the request.
Authors should make their request before publication whenever possible.
4. Editorial Independence
Requests for APC waivers or discounts are handled separately from the editorial evaluation and peer-review process.
The ability or inability of an author to pay publication fees will not influence the editorial decision, peer-review outcome, or acceptance of a manuscript.
Editors and reviewers are not required to consider an author's financial circumstances when evaluating a manuscript.
5. Country-Based Considerations
RIJSSR may consider the economic status of the author's country or economy when evaluating waiver or discount requests. Authors from countries with limited access to research and publication funding may be eligible for a full or partial waiver.
Country-based eligibility does not automatically guarantee a waiver. Each request may be reviewed according to the journal's applicable waiver policy.
6. Multiple Authors
For articles with multiple authors, waiver eligibility may be assessed primarily with reference to the corresponding author's institutional affiliation and financial circumstances, while the journal may also consider the circumstances of co-authors where relevant.
7. Transparency
RIJSSR will make its publication fees, waiver and discount policy publicly available on the journal website. Authors are encouraged to review this policy before submitting a manuscript.
8. No Guarantee of Waiver
Submission of a waiver or discount request does not guarantee that a full or partial waiver will be granted. Decisions are made according to the circumstances presented and the journal's available policy.
9. Confidentiality
Information provided by authors in connection with a waiver or discount request will be treated confidentially and will be used only for the purpose of assessing the request.
