A Meta -Analysis on The Impact of Good Discipline on Students Learning

Abstract

This meta-analysis examines the role of good discipline in enhancing students’ academic performance and overall learning experience. Drawing insights from ten peer-reviewed academic articles, the study synthesizes key themes and findings related to the implementation and impact of discipline in educational settings. The reviewed literature consistently emphasizes that effective discipline fosters a structured, respectful, and engaging classroom environment where students are more likely to stay focused, motivated, and actively involved in learning. Good discipline has been shown to reduce behavioral disruptions, strengthen student-teacher relationships, and create a climate of mutual respect and responsibility. Rather than viewing discipline solely as a corrective measure, the findings highlight its role as a proactive strategy that supports cognitive development, emotional stability, and academic excellence. Moreover, the research underscores that successful discipline involves clear expectations, consistent enforcement, and positive reinforcement.
